6th Grade DARE Recognition Program

The 6th Grade DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Recognition Program was held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. DARE Officer Sergeant Bryan Frankenfield of the Pleasant Hills Police Department just completed the 10-week program that provides students with strategies to help them stay away from drugs by preparing them to act decisively and responsibly in difficult situations. Students who went above and beyond the regular program requirements were recognized for their extra efforts and achievements. Several students were awarded “DARE Students of the Week” basketballs, and other students were awarded t-shirts for their DARE videos. At the end of the program, Principle Como, along with sixth-grade students and staff, honored Sergeant Frankenfield for his 17 years of service to PHMS students as a DARE Instructor. School Resource Officer Ron Porupsky will take over the DARE Program for the 2017-18 school year. Thank you Sergeant Frankenfield and the Pleasant Hills Police Department for all you do for the students and families in our community! Click here to view photos of the event.
