The West Jefferson Hills School District Special Education/Pupil Services Department retains records of students who have any history of special education, gifted education, or Section 504/Chapter 15 services and/or evaluations until the students have reached the age of 28. The year the former student turns 28, the district notifies the student/guardian at the last known address that records can be picked up within the subsequent 30 days or they will be destroyed. Prior to this, special education, gifted education, or Section 504/Chapter 15 records can be requested through the Special Education/Pupil Services Department by calling (412) 655-8450, extension 2242. An individual 18 years of age or older, unless adjudicated, must request his/her own records.
