District Comprehensive Plan for Public Review

Winter Weather Procedures
Dr. Ghilani has put together a letter detailing the district's winter weather procedures and how the district determines 2-hour delays and closings. Click here to read. 
Feasibility Study Recommendation
A Feasibility Study was conducted recently to resolve the enrollment capacity issue at the elementary schools and help the district prepare for future growth. Mr. Ryan M. Pierce, AIA, presented his recommendations at the December 5, 2017 School Board Meeting. Click here to view the study. To view the District Stakeholder Engagement Plan, click here. The Demographics Study completed in June 2017 can be viewed here. The district will be holding community focus groups in January 2018 to gather feedback from community members. Pleasant Hills Middle School Advances in Samsung's $2 Million National STEAM Contest
Pleasant Hills Middle School (PHMS), part of the West Jefferson Hills School District, was named one of the nation’s 255 state finalists in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Contest, a program that encourages students to solve real-world issues in their community using classroom skills in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM). Mrs. Jennifer Kassimer’s seventh-grade classroom was chosen based on their proposal to use STEAM skills to address bus safety issues.

Digital Citizenship Classes
As part of our commitment to personalized learning and 1:1 technology, the district has implemented Digital Citizenship classes for all students in grades 5- 12 this school year. We have partnered with Common Sense Media to provide our students with the necessary skills and information to conduct themselves in a safe and responsible manner online.
