It is with immense sorrow and sadness we inform you that Kathy Cecotti, TJHS English Teacher and Theatre Director, passed away on Monday, June 29th, 2009. We offer our heartfelt condolences to the grieving family, staff, students and community members whose lives she touched deeply.

On June 25, 2009, the Board of Directors of the West Jefferson Hills School District adopted a final Budget in the amount of funds that will be required by the School District for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2009.  Click here to view the final budget presentation.
Year-End Letter from the Superintendent
The Board of Directors of the West Jefferson Hills School District has set the following meeting dates for August 2009 through June 2010.  The Board work sessions will begin at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, August 18, September 15, October 20, November 24, 2009; and January 19, February 16, March 16, April 20, May 18, and June 15, 2010.  The Regular meetings will begin at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, August 25, September 22, October 27, December 1, 2009; and January 26, February 23, March 23, April 27, May 25, and Thursday, June 24, 2010.  The December Reorganization meeting will begin at 7:00 P.M. on December 1, 2009.  The Work Sessions, Regular, and Reorganization Board meetings will be held in the Thomas Jefferson High School Cafeteria, 310 Old Clairton Road, Jefferson Hills, PA.

The West Jefferson Hills School District is again pursuing federal appropriations with the objective of securing the necessary funding for two programs that will benefit our students.  Please join us in this effort by adding your signature to a letter of support to be hand-delivered to each of our two legislators, Senators Specter and Casey.

The West Jefferson Hills School District received notification from the Pennsylvania Department of Education that four of our schools received the Keystone Achievement Award celebrating the attainment of Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for the 2007-2008 school year. Since the creation of the award five years ago, all five buildings had earned this distinction each of  the first four years. Congratulations everyone!
