I describe the Elements of Art as the "ABC's or 123's" of art. Just as we need to know our letters to know how to write words, combine words to form sentences, and put sentences together to form paragraphs, we need the learn the Elements of Art to build on that knowledge and create more complex pieces of artwork.
The elements of art are the things that make up every work of art. In fact, art cannot be created without using at least one of them. The elements are: line, shape, color, form, texture, value, and space.
