Thomas Jefferson High School, part of the West Jefferson Hills School District, has once again earned a spot on the AP School Honor Roll. The AP School Honor Roll celebrates schools with AP programs that are delivering results for students. Schools are named to the AP School Honor Roll for their efforts and results of increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness. For the 2023-2024 school year, Thomas Jefferson High School earned the silver level of distinction. 

To earn a spot on the AP School Honor Roll, 40% or more of the graduating class must have taken at least one AP Exam during high school, 25% or more of the graduating class must have scored a three or higher on at least one AP Exam during high school, and 2% of the graduating class must have taken five or more AP exams during high school with at least one taking place in ninth or tenth grades.

51% of the Thomas Jefferson High School Class of 2024 took at least one AP exam at some point in their high school career. 38% of TJ 2024 graduates scored a three or higher on any AP exam and may have qualified for college credits. 19% of the Class of 2024 took five or more AP Exams in high school with at least one taken in their ninth or tenth grade years.

Thomas Jefferson High School also received the AP Access Award for its work providing all students the opportunity to participate in AP courses, including students of underrepresented populations.

In spring 2024, a school-record 290 Thomas Jefferson High School students were enrolled in AP courses. A school-record 208 TJ students earned a score of 3 or higher. TJ also set another school record when 257 students took AP Exams in the spring of 2024. A total of 44 students earned AP Scholars distinctions in 2023-2024.
