Assessment
The WJHSD uses a balanced assessment system to monitor student progress, inform instruction, and support academic growth. Assessment data helps teachers identify student strengths, address learning needs, and ensure that all students are making meaningful progress.
ESGI (Kindergarten)
Kindergarten students are assessed using ESGI, a customizable foundational skills tool that provides data to teachers, allowing them to tailor instruction to close gaps and increase student growth across all settings.
NWEA MAP Growth (Math and Reading K-8)
Students in grades K-8 participate in NWEA MAP Growth assessments in reading and math three times each year (fall, winter, and spring). MAP Growth measures student achievement and growth over time while providing teachers with data to guide instruction.
DIBELS (Reading K-3)
DIBELS is administered to our early learners three times each year (fall, winter, and spring) to assess foundational reading skills and identify students who may benefit from additional literacy support.
Firefly and CDT (9-12)
Firefly and the Pennsylvania Classroom Diagnostic Tools are used at the secondary level to monitor student progress, strengthen instruction, and prepare students for success on the Keystone Exams.
