Operating Engineers Apprenticeship (Mechanic Technicians Program)

 
The Western Pennsylvania Operating Engineers Joint Apprenticeship and Training Program will accept applications for apprenticeship in their Heavy Equipment Operators Program and their Mechanic Technicians Program in 2008.  Applicants may apply for either or both Programs but may enroll in only one.  Applications will be available on select dates between January 21 - February 1, 2008.
 
Qualification requirements
  1. Be at least 18 at the time of acceptance into the Program.
  2. Reside in one of the 33 counties of Western Pa. for  a minimum of 6 months.
  3. Have a high school diploma or GED.
  4. Have a valid PA drivers license.
  5. Submit a non-refundable fee of $25 with each application.
  6. Have dependable transportation
  7. Pass a Department of Transportation physical exam
  8. Pass a drug test

Applications and information packets must be picked up in person between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, beginning January 21 - February 1, 2008.  Please visit the apprenticeship binder in the guidance office for the locations or visit www.wpaoperators.org.
