After graduating from Belle Vernon Area High School in 1979, I attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 1983, graduating Magna Cum Laude. I relocated to Berkeley County, Martinsburg, West Virginia. During my second year of teaching, I began work on my Master's Degree in Education. I received my Masters of Arts Degree in Elementary Education in 1987 from West Virginia University.
