Thomas
Jefferson High School is comprised of grades nine through twelve
with a current enrollment of approximately 1,050 students.
There are sixty-three full time staff working at the school to
support a strong core academic focus with a variety of elective
experiences.
The building and facilities have been updated through various
renovations. The most recent project was the reconstruction of
the stadium. This included the field and track area as well as
the stands and press box. A field house was also added at this
time.
Thomas Jefferson High School is well known for high academic
standards and competitive athletic programs. Approximately
seventy percent of graduating seniors go on to four-year college
programs.
TJHS will
hold their annual Curriculum Night on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Jefferson High School cafeteria. All
parents/guardians of students who are interested in attending Thomas
Jefferson High School in the fall of 2012 are welcome to attend. During this evening, administrators and counselors will provide you with information pertaining to course selections, credit requirements, and scheduling of classes, followed by a question and answer period.
On Tuesday, March 27, 2012, TJHS will conduct a Student Orientation. This day is designed to provide additional scheduling information for students currently enrolled in private/parochial schools. Students and parents/guardians will meet individually with their counselors to complete the registration and scheduling packet. Please contact Mrs. Linda Ponterio at 412-655-8610, extension 6232 to schedule an appointment.
The National
College Fair will be held at the
David L. Lawrence Convention Center

from (9:00am - 12:00pm and 6:00pm to

2012, (9:00am to 12:00pm). If
you wish your child to attend the
college fair during the school day,
the signed
parental permission slip
must be returned by Monday, February
6, 2012 for your son/daughter to be
given the opportunity to
participate. Students must provide
their own transportation to the

submitted after this date will not
be accepted.
Upon returning from the College
Fair, students need to have the
attached
College Fair Participation form
completed by a representative from one of the colleges, trade school or technical school at the fair.
Students wishing to participate in a spring
sport must pick up a Blue Recertification form (Section 5) in
the Health Office.
This form must be filled out if you have
participated in any previous sport season or signed up for a
previous sport season and then chose not to participate. A full PIAA form will need to be completed
if you have not had a physical done for this 2011-2012 sport
