Grade 6 (4-1/2
weeks) The sixth grade industrial technology course provides the students with their
first experiences in working with metal. The students will be required to
accurately measure materials, make simple three dimensional drawings, and use
basic hand and power tools correctly. Completed projects Will be finished using
paint and flocking materials. Assessment will be based on quizzes, design
drawing, class participation, completed projects, and safe and effective work
habits.
Grade 7 (4-1/2 weeks) The seventh grade industrial technology students will use metal to design and
build an aerodynamic vehicle. Students will be required to utilize math and
science skills learned during the previous year to complete their design. The
students will be required to make a schematic drawing including pulleys, battery
box motor, and axles as part of their design. They will then fabricate and
assemble the vehicle in class. Assessment will be based on quizzes, design
drawing, class participation, completed projects, and safe and effective work
habits.
Grade 8 (4-1/2 weeks) The eighth grade industrial technology students will use wood to construct a
multi-piece project utilizing blueprints for design specifications. Students will
