Dr. Cynthia Fuselier
was appointed Vice Principal of Pleasant Hills Middle School and
began her duties on July 1, 2011; she will also serve the
district as Director of Federal Programs. She was the former
Supervisor of Academic Programs in the district. Prior to coming
to West Jefferson Hills, she was Director of Curriculum in the
New Brighton School District. Prior to New Brighton, she taught
high school English at Trinity High School in Washington, PA and
served as English Department Chair, class advisor, and newspaper
advisor. Dr. Fuselier earned all of her degrees from Duquesne
University: B.S. in secondary education, M.S. in School
Psychology, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. Dr. Fuselier
is a member of many professional organizations: Pennsylvania
Association of Federal Programs Coordinators (PAFPC),
Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the
Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School
Principals. She had articles published in the Kansas English
Journal and Pennsylvania
Educational Leadership.
Dr. Fuselier believes
that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure,
caring, and stimulating environment in which to grow and mature
emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is her
desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest
potential in these areas by providing an atmosphere that is
safe, supports risk-taking, and invites the sharing of ideas.
When Dr. Fuselier is
not at Pleasant Hills Middle School, she enjoys spending time
with her husband, Pete, her Maine Coon cat, Lily, and gardening,
golf, and quilting. She enthusiastically looks forward to
working with the faculty, staff, and students at Pleasant Hills
Middle School. |
