Pleasant Hills Middle School houses students in grades six
through eight. Our total student population for the 2011-12
school year is 670. There are sixty six professional staff
members. Pleasant Hills Middle School was constructed in 1965.
An addition and complete renovation were undertaken during the
2003 school year adding additional classrooms and computer labs. PHMS has received the prestigious Keystone Achievement
Award from the Pennsylvania Department of Education for three
consecutive years.

Courtney Rankin, 7th grade
student at Pleasant Hills
Middle School, was the 2nd
 place winner in
the statewide 7th & 8th grade essay contest
for the PA Society for Biomedical Research.
Her essay, "What's the Point of Bioscience
Research?" won her $200 and an invitation to
the PA Society for Biomedical Research
awards dinner in Radnor, PA on April 17,
2012. Ms. Cramer, Courtney's science
teachers shared, "Courtney is an excellent
student with a very bright future!" Congratulations Courtney!

We would like
to announce this year’s Rotary Award winners at
Pleasant Hills Middle School.
This award is sponsored by the Pleasant Hills Rotary
Club. It recognizes scholastic achievement,
citizenship and community activities. One boy and
one girl from each grade level at Pleasant Hills
Middle School are selected for this prestigious
award.
This year’s
award winners are: 6th
Grade- Lauren Clark and Shawn
Radovic; 7th
Grade- Cole Lutz and Anna
Fiedor; 8th
Grade- Bailey Veith and Ricky
Daley
These
students were honored at an award dinner at the
Georgetown Centre in Pleasant Hills on Tuesday,
April 17th along with the winners from South Park
Middle School and St. Elizabeth School. Congratulations to our Rotary Award winners!

Free sports physicals will be offered
at PHMS on June 1 and June 4. To get an
appointment for a free physical at school, submit the
forms to the nurse by May 8, 2012. Click here to download a revised 2012-13 physical form.
Appointments are on a first come first serve basis until
they are filled. If you child is absent for the
school physical, the sport forms will be returned to you
by mail.

Coach DeCicco's 7th Annual Basketball Camp will be held June 18 through June 21
from 9am to noon. The camp is for students going into grades 4
through 9 for the upcoming 2012-13 school year.
