Mrs. Kinavey’s Mission
Educational Excellence today for tomorrow by:
Accentuating Rigor       Building Relationships         Creating Relevance                 (The ABC’s of the 3R’s)

West Jefferson Hills School District strives to create a fiscally attentive, collaborative, enriching, and respectful learning environment where students are challenged in a rigorous standards-based curriculum utilizing technology and data- driven instruction.

Mrs. Kinavey believes that it is our job as parents, community members, and a school district to challenge each student to maximize his or her potential and achieve success.  The West Jefferson Hills curriculum actively engages the entire learning community in a rigorous educational program that:

·
teaches knowledge, skills, and concepts in a variety of academic disciplines, nurtures individual interest and talents;
·
 inspires intellectual curiosity;
·
develops integrity and personal responsibility;
·
embraces rigor and relevance with a global perspective;
·
and fosters the emotional, social, and physical well-being of each person.

The curriculum needs to prepare students for the world beyond school, not just for the next level of education.  Therefore, the curriculum must reflect what the community believes students should know and be able to do when they graduate from high school.
