Dear Parent/Teacher/Community Member/Student: The West Jefferson Hills School District is pursuing federal appropriations with the objective of securing the necessary funding for two programs that will benefit the students in all of our school buildings, as under the constraints of Act 1, we find that our needs are outweighing our resources. 1. One program seeks to upgrade technology in order to provide a more interactive instructional environment within the math and science curriculum. 2. The other program seeks to provide education, guidance, and counseling services for students that are identified as “at risk” in order to provide these students with an appropriate education and to provide them with vocational and work experience opportunities. One of the requirements of this process entails demonstrating “community support” for these projects via letters of support to the federal legislators that serve our school district community. Please join us in this effort by adding your signature to a letter of support to be hand-delivered to each of our three legislators, Senators Specter and Casey, and Congressman Tim Murphy. Please note, students may sign Letters of Support in addition to their family and friends. You may return your signed letters to the administrative offices of any district school building.
