A REPORT OF THE REGULAR BOARD MEETING – MARCH 28, 2006

 

The Board of School Directors approved the following personnel items:

 

Professional

Ø       to be hired, teachers for summer health, Sessions 1 & 2:  Darrell Domanick, Jill Startari, Jaime Jones, Chad Kanz, Jennifer McHugh, and Michael Mellinger

Ø       changes to the professional substitute list

 
Non-professional

Ø       retirement resignation:  Karen Fine, 6.25 hrs/day Cook, TJHS (effective 4/2/06)

Ø       resignation:  Carrie Daerr, 2.0 hrs/day Lunch-Time Helper, Jefferson Elementary (effective 3/3/06)

Ø       to be hired:  Antoinette Antonelli, 2.0 hrs/day Lunch-Time Helper, Jefferson Elementary

Ø       changes to the service unit substitute list

 

IN OTHER ACTION THE BOARD APPROVED:

Ø       the minutes of the regular meeting of February 28, 2006

Ø       the bill listing from February 18 through March 17, 2006 in the amount of $2,906,097.89 for the General Fund and  $7,757.00 for the Construction Funds

Ø       the proposed 2006-07 Allegheny Intermediate Unit Program of Services Budget totaling $3,503,000, reflecting a 3.5% or $55,265 increase in the total district allocation (WJHSD share being $35,288.54 reflecting a $1,193 increase)

Ø       a contract with Matthews Bus Company

Ø       a parent transportation contract in the amount of $20 per day

Ø       the Class of 2006 commencement date for Thursday, June 8, at 7:00 p.m. in the TJHS stadium (7:30 p.m. in the gymnasium in case of rain)

Ø       a revised extra-curricular 2005-06 salary scale for those positions outside of the contract

Ø       directing that the administration make uniform the hand delivery of each Board member’s workshop agenda and accompanying Board packet to their individual residences on the Friday or last work day of the week before each regularly scheduled workshop meeting
