Air quality testing at Thomas
Jefferson High School has been completed by
NOVA Environmental Services.
Test results indicate that
air quality at Thomas Jefferson High School
is safe and at normal levels.
An internal complaint at
Thomas Jefferson High School was received by
the administration. Mr. Denis Sobczak, the
District’s Director of Facilities, engaged
NOVA Environmental Services, an expert in
this area, to perform the air quality
testing. In an unrelated issue,
several weeks ago a small hot water heating
coil located in the wrestling room was
removed from service due to deterioration
which resulted in a leak. The new coil was
ordered and is due to be delivered by
November 2nd. Installation will
proceed upon delivery. Acting Superintendent Ms.
Hamsini Rajgopal, emphasized that the safety
of the students, faculty and staff is at all
times the highest priority and focus of the
West Jefferson Hills School District.
The West Jefferson Hills School District
would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to
Dr. Timothy McNamee for his service as the
District’s Acting Superintendent. Under the
guidelines of the Pennsylvania Department of
Education, an Acting Superintendent can only
serve for the duration of one year. We
appreciate the dedication and educational
guidance Dr. McNamee has provided the
District during his tenure.
The West Jefferson Hills School District
Board of School Directors and Administrators
are pleased to announce the appointment of
Mrs. Hamsini Rajgopal as our District’s
Acting Superintendent, effective September
29, 2011.
Mrs. Rajgopal , Director of Human
Resources, who holds a Master’s Degree from
the University of Pittsburgh, has been with
the District for five years. In her
administrative role, Mrs. Rajgopal
exemplifies professionalism and leadership.
Her steadfast commitment to our students,
parents and community residents parallels
her respect and appreciation for the
dedicated faculty and staff who have the
distinguished mission of educating our
children, while continuing the District’s
quest for educational excellence.
The following is a quote from Mrs.
Rajgopal upon her appointment as the Acting
Superintendent at the September 27th
